The illusion of movement: How Coinbase’s 800,000 BTC migration exposes the flaw in raw Bitcoin age metrics

Some of Bitcoin’s most trusted bottom signals rest on the simple assumption that when old coins move, something meaningful has changed. Traders and analysts often interpret that as renewed selling, fresh distribution, or signs that the market hasn’t bottomed. That logic helped turn HODL Waves, Coin Days Destroyed, and long-term holder supply into some of the most widely used metrics in Bitcoin cycle analysis. The problem with that is that Bitcoin’s blockchain records movements and has no way of showing the motive behind them. On Nov. 22, 2025, Coinbase said it was transferring BTC and ETH from its legacy wallets to new internal wallets as part of a routine security practice. The company said the transfers were planned, internal, and unrelated to any breach or market event. But on-chain, it looked like a huge block of old coins suddenly waking up. If Coinbase hadn’t published the announcement beforehand, it would have taken some time before the movement stopped looking like pure selling pressure. At the time, CryptoSlate reported that the company moved nearly 800,000 BTC, representing roughly 4% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply and worth around $69.5 billion at the time. That’s large enough to overwhelm raw age-based readings and distort the story traders think the chart is telling. Why Bitcoin traders trust age-based signals so much HODL Waves are one of the most widely used metrics because they compress a wide range of holder behavior into a single view. It’s a macro snapshot of coin age across the total supply. As coins remain dormant, they mature into older age bands. So, when those same coins move, they leave those older bands and re-enter the youngest category. Analysts use that shift to judge whether long-term holders are still sitting tight and whether older supply is being spent. That framework became popular because it fit the rhythm of Bitcoin cycles. In bear markets, traders look for signs that weak hands are gone, long-term holders are absorbing supply, and the available pool of sellers has thinned out. High levels of long-term holder supply often support that interpretation. That’s why these metrics carry so much weight in down markets. They often appear cleaner than price alone, because price can bounce and fail, and derivatives can quickly turn into noise. Age-based supply, on the other hand, is slower, sturdier, and looks much closer to actual conviction. That is also why it’s such a massive event when one custodian’s wallet reorganization can shift the data and create a false impression of real holder behavior. Coinbase said on-chain data would show very large volumes of BTC and ETH moving from existing to new wallets, and that deposit addresses and normal customer activity wouldn’t be affected. It said it was a planned internal migration tied to security standards and said explicitly that it was unrelated to any data breach or external threat. CryptoSlate’s reporting explained why the move looked so dramatic on-chain even though the beneficial owner didn’t change: Bitcoin analytics tools register spent outputs, transaction volume, and age resets immediately, while wallet labels and entity-level interpretation often catch up later. If a large holder sells, ownership changes, and the potential sell-side liquidity changes with it. But if a large exchange moves coins from one internal wallet cluster to another, the blockchain still records those coins as spent and recreated. For age-sensitive charts, those two events can look nearly identical at first glance, even though one reflects genuine distribution and the other is just internal wallet maintenance. Why a wallet reshuffle can look like Bitcoin holders are selling HODL Waves change when dormant coins mature into older age

  • “Not out of form, just out of runs”: Gambhir on backing Abhishek in T20WC

“Not out of form, just out of runs”: Gambhir on backing Abhishek in T20WC

New Delhi [India], March 15 (ANI): Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has opened up about the decision to back World No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma, who scored three ducks in a row during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which the Men in Blue successfully defended by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in Ahmedabad.
The Indian opener, who entered the tournament with high expectations, saw a low string of scores with three straight ducks in Group A matches against the USA, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. Abhishek scored a half-century against Zimbabwe during the Super 8 stage before the final.
Yet on the biggest stage of the Final, Abhishek rediscovered his form, smashing 52 off 21 balls and registering the fastest fifty of the 2026 edition in just 18 deliveries, which helped India to post a monstrous total of 255.
Speaking on JioHotstar, the Indian head coach Gambhir recalled his own difficult phase during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2014 and said such lean patches are part of a cricketer’s journey.
Gautam Gambhir backed Abhishek, saying the player is not out of form but simply ‘out of runs’, while urging him to play with more aggression and ignore outside criticism.
‘I’ve had a worse experience than him in 2014 during the IPL, when I got three ducks in a row and then another in the fourth game as well. All I told him was that people will look at your scores and will talk about your form, but actually, you are not out of form; you are just out of runs. The only time you can judge your form is when you have played 20 to 30 balls in the middle, and he hasn’t even faced 20 balls yet. All I wanted him to do was go out there in the next game and be even more aggressive compared to what he was in the previous game,’ Gambhir said.
The head coach also encouraged the World No.1 T20I batter to play fearlessly and stay committed to his natural attacking approach.
‘If you want to hit the first ball out of the ground, go and do it, and commit yourself to it 100 per cent because it really doesn’t matter what the world thinks about you. All that matters is what those 30 people in the dressing room think about you, and that is exactly what should matter to all the boys,’ he added.
Expressing confidence in the team, Gambhir said the dressing room always had full faith in every player selected to represent the country in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
‘There was no doubt whatsoever about Abhishek. For anyone, to be honest, in that dressing room, we always had faith and trust in everyone who was selected to represent the country in the T20 World Cup,’ Gambhir said.
Team India made history by securing a record-breaking third T20 World Cup title and becoming the first-ever team to defend the title and win it as a home nation following a brilliant 96-run win over New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. (ANI)

Gramin Dak Sevaks are 1st mile of governance, not the last: MoS
New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Gramin Dak Sevaks are not the last mile of governance but the first mile, and without them government services cannot reach villages, Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani said on Sunday.
Speaking at a Gramin Dak Sevak Sammelan in Chennai, Pemmasani praised the role of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in connecting rural India with government services.
He described them as the ‘heartbeat of rural India’, saying they play a vital role in ensuring that services and schemes reach people living in villages across the country.
‘You are not the last mile of governance — you are the first mile. Without you, government services cannot reach the village,’ the minister said.
‘From delivering letters and parcels to helping people access banking services, Aadhaar and passport-related services, postal workers serve every village, street and household,’ Pemmasani said.
He added that despite harsh weather conditions, they continue to act as a bridge of trust between the government and citizens.
Highlighting the growth of the logistics sector, Pemmasani said India Post has a major opportunity to expand its presence in the e-commerce market.
‘India Post currently earns less than Rs 1,000 crore from parcel services, while a single private courier company generates around Rs 6,000 crore,’ he noted.
The minister said that for many decades India Post served as the backbone of communication in the country by delivering legal documents, money orders, newspapers and books.
‘In many villages, postmen also helped people read and write letters, acting as a trusted link between rural communities and the outside world,’ the minister stated.
He highlighted that India today has one of the largest postal networks in the world. The system includes nearly four lakh regular employees and more than 2.5 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks working through over 1.6 lakh post offices.
Pemmasani also said the government is working to transform the Department of Posts into a modern, technology-driven logistics organisation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

  • Harry Styles’ Dating History: From Kendall Jenner to Olivia Wilde to Zoë Kravitz

Harry Styles has always been notoriously private regarding his love life. Since rising to fame in One Direction, Styles has been in his fair share of high-profile relationships. Even early into his career, he made headlines for his romance with the late Caroline Flack. Less than a year later, his paparazzi photos with Taylor Swift went viral after the rumored couple was spotted on a date in Central Park. Styles has also been linked to several Victoria’s Secret models, including Kendall Jenner and Camille Rowe. The “As It Was” singer dated his Don’t Worry Darling costar Olivia Wilde for nearly two years after her very public split from Jason Sudeikis. Despite the controversy surrounding their relationship, Styles maintained his stance on keeping his romances private. “I’ve never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it’s benefited me positively. There’s always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn’t going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way,” Styles previously told Rolling Stone. After his split from Wilde, the pop star was seen in June 2023 hanging out with actress Taylor Russell before they split the following May. Then, in August 2025, he was romantically linked to actress Zoë Kravitz when the two were spotted on a stroll in Rome; they’ve been spotted together in New York City in recent days ahead of his Saturday Night Live appearance on March 14. Here’s a look back at Harry Styles’ dating history. Felicity Skinner Before Styles was a megastar, he met one of his first girlfriends, Felicity Skinner, through a mutual friend. The two teenagers began dating, despite living in different cities. The couple remained together for almost a year before drifting apart. Looking back on the relationship, Skinner says Styles was a great boyfriend. “He was a really good boyfriend, very romantic and, yes, shy. He was good looking and obviously I found him very attractive. We were together for just under a year … We just clicked straight away and got on really well. He has a really cute smile. We started seeing each other when we were both about 15. He was really sweet. It was puppy love and we were definitely each other’s first loves,” Felicity shared in an interview. Caroline Flack Karwai Tang/WireImage In 2011, Styles was linked with television personality Caroline Flack. At the time, One Direction had recently wrapped their run on The X Factor, and Flack had just begun hosting a spin-off show, The Xtra Factor. The couple, who had a 14-year age gap, went on to date for several months. They split in early 2012, with Styles tweeting that it had been a “mutual decision.” “Please know I didn’t ‘dump’ caroline. This was a mutual decision. She is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. Please respect that,” Styles posted. Flack looked back on the brief relationship in her 2015 autobiography Storm in a C Cup, where she explained that things had been going well until their romance was made public. It wasn’t long before the public’s scrutiny of their age gap led to the relationship’s demise. ”We were both single, we got on well and we had a laugh. It was only when it became public knowledge that things turned sour. At the beginning it was all very playful. He joked about being attracted to older women. It began to go wrong when Harry was pictured coming out of my house one morning. And once that was out, it was open season. After that

  • Two churches in east Texas trade spaces

Two churches in east Texas trade spaces

In a move some have called ‘a God moment’ of interdenominational unity, an Assemblies of God church swapped buildings with a Baptist church in a small East Texas town, allowing each congregation to thrive in their new space. Southside Baptist Church (SBC) in Carthage, Texas, was running about 50 people in a 46,000-square-foot building that was draining all the church’s resources, including the congregation’s energy. Kirby Hill, pastor of SBC, noticed Faith Assembly of God outgrowing its space, so he proposed to Senior Pastor David Baze in October 2024 a building swap to better serve both churches. Through God’s direction and a lot of supernatural unity, both boards and congregations voted overwhelmingly to complete the trade. Gaylan Claunch, superintendent for the North Texas District of the Assemblies of God (NTDAG), likened the swap to something rooted in Psalm 118:23, which says ‘this is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight.’ Your tax-deductible gift supports our mission of reporting the truth and restoring the church. Pastor David Baze of Faith Assembly of God. (Photo AG News) Baze, who also serves as a presbyter for NTDAG, ‘encountered a God moment’ at a time when they needed more room for growth and ministry, according to Claunch. ‘At the same time, Kirby Hill was praying along with his congregation about the need for different facilities,’ Claunch says. ‘Probably the least likely answer to prayer was that the two congregations swapped their churches, resulting in growth for both, a vibrant witness to the local community, and a remarkable season of unity and ministry expansion. We rejoice with both Faith Assembly and Southside Baptist as two godly pastors led this incredible story.’ Faith Assembly’s new building, the former Baptist church, needed some renovations, but God miraculously provided, including random strangers who asked to hook up their recreational vehicle outside the church. The couple then donated their RV (valued at almost $80,000) to Faith Assembly. Faith Assembly then received a nearly two-thirds discounted rate on the congregation’s property insurance from the original quote. Through all of this, no monies were exchanged and it has been something that has inspired community members. Gayla Wilson, a resident of Carthage, which has a population of around approximately 6,600, says her first reaction to the trade was ‘just wow.’ ‘Every time we had driven past Faith Assembly before, that body of believers looked like they were bursting at the seams,’ she recalls. ‘The parking lot was always full and you could just see the growth. When I learned that one congregation needed more space while the other needed to downsize, it just seemed like such a perfect fit. ‘To me, it felt like one of those situations where everyone wins,’ Wilson, 70, adds. ‘It’s practical, it makes sense, and more than that, I truly believe God is blessing both churches through it. It’s encouraging to see two congregations work together in a way that strengthens them both and continues the work of the kingdom.’ Baze, 64, who has pastored Faith Assembly for 24 years, notes that his initial reaction to the proposal was ‘shock and disbelief.’ ‘For my church board, it was even more so because of the insurance, increased utilities, repairs and updates needed,’ he explains. ‘Would our congregation of 100 be swallowed up in a sanctuary that size?’ ‘I believe it was God’s direction and timing for both churches,’ Baze

  • Liberian flagged ship from Saudi port docks at Mumbai amid West Asia tensions

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 12 (ANI): A Liberian-flagged ship captained by an Indian and loaded with crude oil from the Saudi port of Ras Tanura has arrived at the port of Mumbai, via the Strait of Hormuz, Mumbai Port Trust has informed.
The tanker ‘Shenlong Suezmax’ reached Mumbai port on Wednesday, after Iran cleared the vessel to transit through the strategic waterway, authorities said.
The development comes even as sources said that Iranian authorities have decided to allow Indian flagged ships to pass safely through the Strait, where maritime traffic has all but halted since the US and Israel attacked Iran. In retaliation, Tehran targeted other West Asian nations, spilling over the conflict. The Liberia-flagged Shenlong Suezmax loaded crude had departed from the Saudi port Ras Tanura on March 1.Earlier, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ (IRGC) Naval Force said that vessels seeking to sail through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz must obtain Iran’s approval; otherwise, they could become targets of Iranian attacks.Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said that two ships that had ignored Iran’s warnings were targeted in the Strait on Wednesday.”Were the ships assured of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz? This should be asked of the crews of the vessels Express Rome and Mayuree Naree, who today, trusting in empty promises, ignored the warnings and intended to cross the Strait, but were caught. Any vessel intending to pass must obtain permission from Iran,” the Iranian general said in a post on X.According to Iranian state media, Iran intensified its restrictions on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and Tehran has said that vessels not serving the interests of the United States and Israel can sail through the strait safely. More than 20 million barrels of crude oil pass daily through the narrow channel separating the Iranian coast from Oman. That volume represents roughly a fifth of global oil consumption and nearly a quarter of all seaborne oil trade. A significant share of the world’s liquefied natural gas also moves through the same passage. When that flow falters even briefly, the consequences cascade across financial markets, supply chains and household budgets around the world.Meanwhile, India’s Shipping Ministry on Wednesday said that at present, 28 Indian-flagged vessels are operating in the Persian Gulf region. Of these, 24 vessels are located west of the Strait of Hormuz carrying 677 Indian seafarers, while four vessels are east of the Strait with 101 Indian seafarers onboard. The Ministry said that their safety and security are being actively monitored.A 24-hour control room has been operational in the Ministry and the Directorate General of Shipping since 28 February 2026 to monitor developments and coordinate assistance.Authorities, ship managers and recruitment agencies are coordinating closely with Indian embassies and local authorities to ensure safety and provide assistance to Indian seafarers wherever required. The Ministry said it is closely monitoring the evolving maritime situation in the Persian Gulf region with a focus on the safety of Indian seafarers and Indian-flagged vessels. The Ministry further stated that the Government remains committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of Indian seafarers and protecting India’s maritime interests. (ANI)

  • Amit Shah Criticizes No-Confidence Motion Against Lok Sabha Speaker

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed strong disapproval of the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday, labeling it an extraordinary and regrettable event. Shah underscored that the speaker serves as an impartial guardian, representing all members of the House, regardless of political affiliation.
Addressing the Lok Sabha, Shah emphasized that the operations of the House are governed by established rules rather than party agendas. He criticized the opposition for questioning the speaker’s integrity, equating it to challenging the democratic system itself. Shah highlighted that while the BJP was in opposition, it never resorted to such a motion against the speaker.
Shah recounted that only on three previous occasions in India’s parliamentary history has such a motion been brought against a Lok Sabha Speaker. He maintained that mutual trust underpins parliamentary proceedings, and breaching this trust reflects poorly on parliamentary ethics. He further asserted the speaker’s role in maintaining decorum by expunging unparliamentary language from official records.
